About the Role

The People Team at Asana is dedicated to empowering all Asanas to achieve company goals in alignment with our values. We focus on recruiting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds, ensuring everyone can thrive, grow, and make a meaningful impact. Our work supports Asana's mission: to help humanity thrive by enabling all teams to collaborate seamlessly and effectively.

As a People Partner, you will act as a business leader, applying organizational strategy, change leadership, and consulting expertise to shape talent transformation agendas at the functional leadership level.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. Standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas can work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on your role and the teams you partner with. Your recruiter will provide more details on in-office requirements during the interview process.

What You'll Achieve

  • Drive strategic thought partnership by building and implementing department-level talent strategy initiatives aligned with business outcomes.
  • Navigate ambiguity to identify root issues in complex situations, presenting findings and socializing change clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead change management by partnering with senior leaders to develop scalable change strategies, proactively planning for contingencies and championing the vision through effective storytelling.
  • Consult and advise functional leads as a trusted advisor, managing complex people situations and supporting leaders in building their own capability.
  • Leverage data literacy to interpret complex people data, identify trends, translate findings into actionable decisions, and champion a data-driven culture.
  • Influence at scale by actively participating in business headcount and strategic planning forums as the essential "people voice."

About You

  • Typically possess 6-8 years of HR experience with a proven track record as a strategic HR Business Partner or Organizational Consultant.
  • A recognized subject matter expert adept at navigating large-scale organizational change and influencing effectively without authority.
  • A versatile communicator comfortable with complex spreadsheets and leading "C-suite" conversations.
  • An independent problem solver with a demonstrated ability to manage large, complex projects across functional and regional boundaries with minimal direction.
  • A collaborative partner who proactively engages with HR Centers of Excellence to ensure recommendations are holistic and data-backed.
  • An analytic mindset committed to identifying and mitigating potential biases in data and decision-making.
  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making.
  • M&A experience is preferred but not required.

At Asana, we are committed to building diverse teams with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, which is crucial for achieving our mission. If you are interested in this role and do not meet every listed requirement, we encourage you to still apply.

What We'll Offer

Our comprehensive compensation package recognizes your impact on our mission. We believe compensation should reflect the value you create relative to the market. To ensure fair pay, we assess market value and conduct yearly pay equity audits.

The estimated base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $200,000. Actual base salary will vary based on factors like market conditions and individual qualifications assessed during the interview process. This range is a guideline, and the base salary may be adjusted.

Your compensation package may also include equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits. We offer equitable and competitive benefits packages supporting our global employees:

  • Mental health, wellness, and fitness benefits
  • Career coaching and support
  • Inclusive family-building benefits
  • Long-term savings or retirement plans
  • In-office culinary options catering to dietary preferences
