Job Summary
Ascension is seeking a Credentialing Coordinator to join their Credentialing Verification Operations team. This is a full-time, remote position with a Monday-Friday schedule. The salary range is $23.03-$31.16 per hour.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage provider credentialing and re-credentialing processes to ensure efficient operations and up-to-date staff data.
- Verify that healthcare professionals and services meet federal, state, and NCQA standards, including professional licensing, training, and certifications.
- Prepare and maintain reports on credentialing activities.
- Coordinate medical staff appointments and process applications/licensing.
- Facilitate communication across departments and administration regarding the provider credentialing process.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and legal requirements for medical staff.
- Contact medical offices, licensing agencies, and insurance carriers to complete credentialing and re-credentialing tasks.
- Track and report on credentialing performance measures.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with credentialing software (preferably MD Staff) and proficiency in Excel.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Ability to focus on tasks involving software utilization and data input, while also providing customer service to credentialed practitioners via phone.
- 2 years of relevant experience.
