Senior Accountant

Location: Nashville Metro Area (Hybrid) Compensation: $80,000 -- $95,000 Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Opportunity

A fast-growing, PE-backed multi-site healthcare organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role supports the full scope of accounting operations --- general ledger, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit support --- in a dynamic environment where acquisitions and operational expansion are constant. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving setting and brings both technical depth and a process improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and analyze account balances for variances on a monthly basis
  • Support the monthly and year-end financial statement close process, adhering to established close schedules
  • Assist with accounts payable oversight and financial reporting processes across multiple entities
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with GAAP and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, performance metrics, and management reports
  • Support the annual budget process, including data compilation, variance analysis, and forecasting
  • Participate in internal and external audit preparation, providing documentation and analysis as needed
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership to improve financial processes and support organizational goals
  • Identify and implement strategies to optimize accounting workflows, enhance internal controls, and improve operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Proficiency in NetSuite and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a multi-site or multi-entity healthcare environment
  • Background in a PE-backed or high-growth organization with active M&A
  • Experience supporting audit processes and implementing process improvements
  • CPA or CPA candidate

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr.
