Leads analytical support for long-term strategic programs, serving as the point person for assigned projects. Engages with stakeholders to understand requests, define scope, and manage deliverables to meet timelines and expectations.

Conducts complex analyses and coordinates, reviews, and prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned accounts and funds, ensuring accurate and timely recording of activity, calculation of adjustments, and correction of errors. Presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership.

Reviews and prepares detailed analyses of various general ledger accounts and selected cost centers, including grants and special funds. Reviews account and/or fund activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness, interpreting trends or deviations and making recommendations for corrective action. Provides management with explanations for current and prior changes and projected impacts, and makes recommendations for the hospital's operating budget development.

Leads ad-hoc special projects aimed at improving hospital operations and financial performance.

Mentors the team in preparing and presenting executive-level analyses/reports related to hospital activities, including department/program profit and loss information.

Reviews and prepares detailed analysis of various general ledger accounts and selected cost centers on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Reviews account activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness, interpreting trends or deviations and making recommendations for corrective action.

Leads team members in response to ad-hoc requests.

Reviews and submits periodic reports and documents for regulatory agencies and other external organizations as required.

Guides department managers on effectively utilizing recommendations and supporting information in formulating robust action plans, including the development of timelines and data needs for monitoring progress.

Reviews and prepares various financial and statistical reports for monthly closes, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit reporting, including UFR Guidance. Prepares various financial and statistical reports for grant sponsors, donors, and federal agencies overseeing grants awarded to the hospital. Reviews various reports for quality, accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness.

Reviews, prepares, organizes, and maintains supporting documentation and schedules in various media on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis in preparation for the monthly close, quarterly reviews, and year-end audit. This includes journal entries, budget performance reports, detail trial balance reports, journal entry logs, account reconciliation reports, expanded labor cost reports, and various other supporting general ledger schedules.

Maintains collaborative team relationships with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the working group's achievement of goals and foster a positive work environment.

Completes other projects as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial reporting experience.
- Experience working in a public accounting setting (Big 4 preferred).
- Expert-level analytical and financial reporting skills, including the ability to handle complex data sets.
- Demonstrated experience with complex, enterprise-wide financial analysis.
- Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively with leadership.
- Proven experience leading strategic financial initiatives within a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Demonstrated ability to improve financial processes and enhance analytical capabilities.
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding junior staff.
- Proficiency in accounting and financial analysis, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting requirements and regulatory expectations in healthcare.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Boston, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
