Job Description
This is a remote job, open to candidates in the USA.
Atlas HXM is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of Extended Workforce Payments products. This role focuses on contractor onboarding, compliance, and global payouts, while navigating regulatory complexities.
Responsibilities
- End-to-end product ownership of new Extended Workforce solutions, beginning with AOR.
- Contractor lifecycle management:
- Onboarding & classification
- Contracts & documentation
- Invoicing & payouts
- Build compliant flows for North America (US, Canada) with extensibility for global expansion.
- Design and scale multi-currency, cross-border payment experiences.
- Partner deeply with legal, compliance, finance, and ops to translate regulatory complexity into product.
- Define and drive core metrics:
- Activation & onboarding completion
- Payment success rates
- Compliance coverage
- Revenue & margin
- Work closely with engineering to build reliable, scalable systems (not duct-taped workflows).
- Engage with users constantly (HR, finance, operations, independent contractors, customers) and translate insights into product bets.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3-5 years in product management, with experience in early-stage or high-growth environments, or at a company within the hiring services space.
- Experience building or leading products in AOR / COR / EOR.
- Experience building or leading products in contractor management platforms.
- Experience building or leading products in global payroll or contractor payments.
- Understanding of worker classification and associated risks.
- Understanding of tax forms (W-9, W-8BEN, 1099 workflows).
- Understanding of cross-border payments (FX, rails, delays, failures).
- Comfortable using AI tools (LLMs, automation, Claude, Figma, etc.) in daily workflows.
- Ability to identify opportunities to embed AI into product experiences (e.g., compliance automation, document processing, risk detection).
- Keenness to stay current with emerging AI capabilities and apply them pragmatically.
- Comfortable transitioning from zero structure to shipped product to scaled system.
- Ability to balance speed, risk, and quality without getting stuck.
- Understanding that payments, compliance, and onboarding are systems, not just features.
- Ability to design for edge cases, failures, and scale.
- Ability to work through ambiguity without waiting for perfect clarity.
- Familiarity with payment rails (ACH, wire, wallets, Stripe, etc.).
- Exposure to compliance-heavy or regulated environments.
