Position Overview

We are looking for a detailed, self-starter to join our IT team. This department supports Workday Human Capital Management, VNDLY, Infor / Lawson Payroll, and applications related to Banner Volunteers, Gift Shops, and the Banner Foundation. We support payroll for 55,000 employees, manage Gift Shop POS/Inventory systems, report volunteer data, support the Banner Foundation Employee donation application, and manage security assignments.

Our current project list includes implementing Workday Financials (Payroll), developing a new Volunteer Management system, and a new provider pay application. We also handle annual projects such as Archiving Payroll, Open Enrollment, Fiscal Year-end, and application upgrades.

Additionally, our department supports automations for various IT departments using AI, the Power Automate suite, and a variety of SS&C products. We strive to deliver solutions to meet business needs with outstanding customer service.

Internship Details

As an I/T Intern, you will work alongside and be mentored by a collaborative team. You will be included in cross-training and brainstorming sessions, and assigned entry-level tasks on various projects.

  • Responsibilities: Assist with technical tasks, collaborate on developing automations, create testing plans, maintain project documentation, and troubleshoot failed jobs.
  • Schedule: Candidates must work 20 hours per week between 8 am and 5 pm while school is in session. When school is not in session, 40 hours is preferred.
  • Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college program with coursework related to the internship or general knowledge obtained through a college degree.
  • Location: This can be a remote position ONLY if you live in AZ, CA, CO, NE, NV, or WY.

Position Summary

This position is typically up to one year in length and works under the direct supervision of a department manager. The role is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures related to the assigned department and area of study.

Core Functions

  • Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles.
  • Participates on work teams, contributes to projects, and performs various tasks as needed.
  • Performs research and prepares reports on assigned topics or projects.
  • Works as a member of a team providing service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with coursework related to the internship or general knowledge obtained through a college degree.
  • Depending on the area of focus, recent completion of an accredited certificate program is required.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience, education, or general knowledge of Information Technology.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge related to the department/unit/area of study.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers.
  • Additional related education and/or experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Pay Range: $17.50 - $17.50 / hour
