Job description

Client: Pharma

Location: Fully Remote - EST

Must Haves

  • AI-First Mindset: Must be an AI-first developer who utilizes tools like Claude Code, CodeX, or Cursor.
  • Programming: Strong Python coding skills with extensive API development experience.
  • Cloud: Proficiency with multiple AWS services.
  • Platform Engineering: Experience with back-end development and automation (cloud ops, SRE, internal tooling).

Nice to Have

  • Full stack experience (React, frontend tooling, or internal UI development).
  • Familiarity with LLM platforms, agent frameworks, or AI-enabled developer tooling.
  • Experience with Kubernetes, service meshes, or container orchestration.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance in regulated environments.
  • Prior experience on SRE, product, platform, or internal tooling teams.

Plus

  • GitHub Actions experience.
  • Experience building developer self-service portals.

Backend & Systems Development

  • Design and build backend services, APIs, and internal platforms to increase team velocity.
  • Develop automation using modern languages (Go, Python, Kotlin, Node, etc.).
  • Contribute to service architecture, including communication patterns, data access, and resiliency.
  • Review code and architectural designs focusing on performance and maintainability.

Developer Enablement

  • Create self-service interfaces, documentation, and workflows to reduce friction.
  • Enable product teams to consume AI-powered platform capabilities.
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
  • Advocate for platform-as-a-product thinking.
  • Partner with product managers to address developer pain points.

Core Skills

  • Strong cloud infrastructure engineering and backend development.
  • Experience in AI-native engineering environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform strongly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems (scalability, resilience, observability).

Platform Mindset

  • Ability to think in terms of platforms and products.
  • Comfort working with abstractions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starting, able to contribute to roadmaps and take initiative.
