Bellese Technologies is looking for a few special Data Engineers to join the HQR Team! These are 100% Remote positions.
Please note this position requires a public trust background check with the federal government - this requires that you either be a US Citizen or have a current Green Card. Visa's are not eligible for this position. No exceptions.
The Team you will be joining: HQR
Our team is charged with maintaining and improving the software at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that supports the Hospital Quality Reporting program. Thousands of hospitals across the country depend on these systems to submit quality measure data that reflects the care beneficiaries receive in their facility. Our teams will continuously strive to modernize these systems, while improving them in ways that reduce provider burden and minimize costs to CMS.
As an Engineer II:
- Influence: Making an impact on one or more projects or products.
- Technology: Highly proficient in one or more technologies within the Software Engineering discipline.
- System: Reliably scopes, estimates, designs, and delivers medium-to-large features while reducing technical debt.
- People: Proactively supports other team members and helps them to be successful.
- Process: Follows the team processes, delivering a consistent flow of features to production.
These are the types of things you'll be working on
- Leverage test-driven development to deliver backend systems and user interfaces.
- Contribute to the development of APIs, specifications, and data models.
- Design, implement, and maintain data interactions. Optimize data operations for performance and scalability.
- Design and develop user interfaces, informed by UX designs.
- Understand and contribute to functional and non-functional automated testing suites.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong experience with Python / Apache Spark (non-negotiable).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL process, Orchestration, and distributed computing.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Related experience in analytic programming, data extraction, and data analysis.
- Experience utilizing CI/CD Pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS Experience (S3, EC2, Glue, Lambda, etc).
- R experience.
- Professional Databricks/Apache Spark Certification(s).
- SAS experience.
Security Clearance Requirements

- US Residency for at least the past 3 years.
- Able to meet the requirements to hold a position of Public Trust.
