Associate Director, Field Effectiveness (Hybrid)
This hybrid role requires 2-3 days onsite in Deerfield. You will be accountable for the field success of an entire business unit, enabling, advising, and supporting the sales force to achieve peak performance through insights, excellence, and efficiency. This position reports to the Director, Field Effectiveness.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as a liaison for all Field Excellence capabilities, ensuring seamless integration and alignment of initiatives.
- Act as a strategic advisor to sales leadership (NSDs and Regional Directors), connecting sales force strategy and execution across various field excellence initiatives (incentive compensation, field operations, field systems, etc.) and broader Commercial Data & Analytics (CD&A) functions (field reporting, alerts, suggestions, etc.).
- Lead or co-lead special initiatives and projects such as Sales Force size & structure, launch readiness, and pilot test and learns.
- Assist the Director in developing and executing field effectiveness strategies and programs across the portfolio, with a specific focus on your business unit.
- Implement tactical plans to enhance field force productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with US Analytics, Reporting, and other stakeholders to develop robust sales force metrics and dashboard systems.
- Regularly assess field performance metrics and industry trends to proactively identify and address areas for improvement, recommending solutions aligned with strategic objectives.
- Facilitate the execution and pull-through of field force projects, including customer targeting, field reporting, field alerts/suggestions, omnichannel/digital strategies, and field transformation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of managers and senior managers, fostering a culture of high performance, innovation, and accountability.
- Establish clear performance metrics and development paths for team members, encouraging professional growth aligned with business goals.
- Work closely with the broader CD&A team and cross-functional partners to ensure integrated and effective execution of field strategies.
- Assess sales force insights and analytics needs, collaborating with US Analytics to prioritize and/or utilize existing Field Effectiveness resources for ad-hoc analytics.
- Monitor industry trends and the marketplace to stay ahead of the competition, enhancing and evolving capabilities to adapt to changing business needs.
What We Expect of You:
We seek a strategic thinker with an analytical mindset and collaborative leadership skills.
Basic Qualifications:
- Doctorate degree and 3 years of experience in sales analytics, field effectiveness, life sciences management consulting, or field sales in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
- OR Master's degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
- OR Bachelor's degree and 7 years of relevant experience.
- OR Associate's degree and 12 years of relevant experience.
- OR High school diploma/GED and 14 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strategic Thinking: Creative and innovative approach to influence sales leadership.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to diagnose business issues and develop/adjust strategies, plans, and tactics.
- Project Management: Ability to lead cross-functional teams in identifying, prioritizing, and implementing field operations improvements.
- Collaboration: Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and support for initiatives.
- Communication: Clear articulation of vision, goals, and progress to all organizational levels.
- Team Leadership: Proven experience in building and developing high-performing teams and leading large, matrixed initiatives.
