The Opportunity
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Function in a supervisory role and independently develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to unique engineering problems.
- Supervise project budget, schedule, technical output, and performance of the engineering staff on projects of medium to high complexity.
- With minimal oversight from a Project Manager, interface directly with the Client on all technical aspects of the project, including the management of change associated with the project work scope, contract terms, or any subcontract contracts.
- Support business development of proposals.

Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies.
- Assists in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards.
- Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines.
- Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with the B&V quality program.
- Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality.
Project Execution Responsibilities
- Actively coordinates with all other internal/external team members on complex projects.
- Responsible for defining project schedules for single disciplines or multiple disciplines.
- Responsible for identifying key client interests and drivers on projects.
- Communicates client interests to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns.
- Actively manages project changes directly with the Client with supervision from the Project Manager.
Technical Expertise
- Actively advances knowledge management of the enterprise and provides mentoring.
- Serves as a subject matter expert, participates in professional societies, and assists with code/standard authoring.
Operations/Management
- Oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions.
- Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for the workgroup.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior Nuclear experience.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides.
- Intermediate knowledge of other disciplines, industry trends, construction/constructability, and procurement/contract administration.
- Working knowledge of project controls, estimating, and the proposal process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 11 years of related work experience.
- Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, etc.).
- Must satisfy citizenship requirements outlined in 10 CFR 810.

Compensation Transparency
Final compensation is determined based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal alignment, and geographic location.
- State of Maryland: $162,384 - $271,176 annually.
