Major Gifts Officer

Social Services Nonprofit in Florida South Florida - Remote (Palm Beach Area Preferred)

Salary Range: $92,000 to $112,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific new Major Gifts Officer position with a social services nonprofit in Florida. This role will operate remotely and needs to be based in the South Florida area.

The MGO will join the organization during an exciting period of growth and at the start of a six-year fundraising campaign to support expansion of programmatic services. The role will be integral in cultivating and soliciting major donors in South Florida and the Treasure Coast area at the five and six-figure level.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide moves management to a major gifts portfolio of 120-150 current and prospective donors, securing gifts of $10k
  • Develop and grow the major gifts portfolio including elevating existing donors to higher levels of giving
  • Utilize effective cultivation strategies and maintain consistent communication with donors
  • Provide donor stewardship, reporting, and proposals
  • Identify new prospects capable of giving major gifts and analyze giving trends
  • Manage giving societies and grow the donor base
  • Travel within the region to meet with donors and attend events

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 3 - 5 years of relevant major gifts fundraising experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
  • Demonstrated track record utilizing moves management strategies to secure 5 to 6 figure gifts
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with donors and prospects
  • Team player that works well in a collaborative organization
  • Mission-driven and ability to convey the organization's mission to donors
