Director of Sales -- Front-of-the-Meter Energy Storage (Utility-Scale BESS)
📍 Remote (U.S. National Territory)
A well-capitalized energy infrastructure organization is seeking a senior sales leader to drive growth across its utility-scale energy storage business. The focus is on front-of-the-meter battery energy storage (5--100MW+) and related grid-connected energy projects across utility, developer, IPP, and public power markets.
This role is responsible for leading complex, long-cycle sales efforts from early engagement through commercial close, working closely with internal development, engineering, and execution teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development across utility-scale energy storage opportunities
- Lead full-cycle sales for large, multi-stakeholder energy storage projects (5--100MW+)
- Build and manage relationships with utilities, IPPs, developers, co-ops, and municipalities
- Own deal structuring, pricing strategy, and commercial negotiation through close
- Develop and manage a qualified pipeline using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
- Partner with engineering and project teams on solution design and delivery alignment
- Track market trends across ISO/RTO markets, regulation, and storage economics
Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of success in energy storage, power markets, or complex energy infrastructure sales
- Strong experience closing technical, long-cycle, high-value deals
- Understanding of utility procurement, interconnection, and wholesale power markets
- Strong commercial and financial acumen (project economics, ROI, pricing models)
- Ability to operate in highly technical, cross-functional environments
