Digital Marketing Account Manager

Location: Remote

Salary: $50,000 - $125,000

Company Overview

Built-Right Digital is a dynamic and innovative digital marketing agency specializing in SEO and PPC advertising. As we scale from startup to industry leader, we're building the operational infrastructure that will support our next phase of growth-from managing hundreds of clients to thousands.

We're seeking an experienced agency professional who understands the fast-paced, client-focused nature of digital marketing agencies and can immediately contribute to our SEO and PPC operations with minimal training.

We offer a fully remote work environment with team members across multiple time zones, flexible working conditions, and significant growth opportunities in a fast-growing company where your contributions directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional client results and expand our market presence. Our values-driven culture champions Ownership, Continuous Improvement, Adaptability, and Drive, while fostering an inclusive team environment that encourages diverse perspectives, collaboration, and clear advancement pathways for high performers.

Team Summary

You'll be joining Built-Right Digital's small but mighty growth team-a tight-knit group where no two days are the same and every detail matters. We master the art of professional juggling, seamlessly managing client relationships and campaigns because when clients trust us with substantial marketing plans and budgets, 100% accuracy isn't just preferred, it's non-negotiable. We're seeking someone with proven agency experience who understands the fast-paced, client-focused nature of digital marketing agencies-someone equally comfortable serving as a client's trusted strategic advisor and driving new account growth-and who can hit the ground running with our SEO and PPC operations. To succeed in this role, you should anticipate a balanced workload where approximately 50% of your time is dedicated to client management, 20% to internal management, and 30% to new sales efforts.

Responsibilities

1. Client Relationship & Account Management

  • Primary Point of Contact: Act as the main point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring their needs, feedback, and concerns are communicated clearly to internal SEO/PPC teams.
  • Relationship Cultivation: Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients, acting as their primary strategic advisor and advocate within the organization.
  • Dual Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for both clients and the company, balancing client expectations with the team's capabilities and strategy.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential client concerns or churn risks and develop strategic solutions before they impact the relationship.

2. Campaign Oversight & Performance Reporting

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the health and progress of SEO/PPC campaigns, providing clients with insightful, accurate updates and acting as a vigilant second pair of eyes.
  • Internal Translation: Collaborate with internal SEO/PPC experts, translating client objectives and feedback into actionable insights for campaign strategy refinement.
  • Value Demonstration: Regularly analyze campaign effectiveness, delivering optimization strategies and insights that demonstrate continuous value.
  • Data-Driven Tracking: Track key performance metrics and maintain accurate, up-to-date records using CRM and reporting tools.

3. Service & Technical Expertise

  • Platform Mastery: Maintain real, working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and PPC/Google Ads mechanics (campaign structure, bidding, conversion tracking, Quality Score, etc.) well enough to speak credibly with clients and internal specialists about strategy and performance, not just relay information.
  • Technical Fluency: Understand core technical concepts behind our services - site architecture, crawlability, page speed, tagging/tracking implementation - well enough to talk shop directly with developers and production teams, not just marketers.
  • Production Bridge: Act as a knowledgeable bridge between client-facing conversations and the production/development team, translating business requests into clear technical specs and translating technical constraints back into client-friendly explanations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on Google Ads, SEO best practices, and platform updates so you remain a credible, trusted resource for both clients and internal teams.

4. Account Growth & Service Expansion

  • Revenue Expansion: Identify and capitalize on opportunities to expand services within existing client accounts, maximizing client lifetime value.
  • Strategic Upselling: Develop tailored service proposals that align with client growth objectives and business needs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to build comprehensive service packages that drive account expansion.

5. New Business Development & Sales Support

  • Sales Cycle Support: Support the full sales cycle from qualified lead to signed contract, including proposal development and negotiation.
  • Lead Generation & Pipeline: Generate new business opportunities through outreach, referrals, and networking, and manage a healthy sales pipeline using CRM tools.
  • Market Insight: Leverage industry relationships and market research to identify and pursue new client and partnership opportunities.

6. Process, Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Process Improvement: Contribute to process improvements that streamline client onboarding, reporting, and account management workflows.
  • Mentorship: Where applicable, mentor and support teammates, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and excellence.
  • Unified Approach: Partner across sales, client success, and production teams to ensure a unified approach to client service and growth.

Skills and Competencies

  • Client-Centric Approach: Strong focus on building and maintaining relationships, understanding client needs, and delivering tailored solutions that exceed expectations.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value, engage stakeholders at all levels, and represent client voices internally.
  • Analytical Thinking: Adept at tracking campaign and account performance, interpreting data, and translating metrics into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Market Insight: Solid understanding of digital marketing trends (SEO, PPC, social, content) and the competitive landscape.
  • Technical & Platform Fluency: Working knowledge of SEO and Google Ads/PPC mechanics, with enough technical grounding to communicate effectively with developers on implementation details, tracking, and site changes.
  • Negotiation & Sales Acumen: Ability to develop proposals, negotiate terms, and close opportunities that are profitable and sustainable for both client and agency.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: High level of flexibility, energy, and precision when managing multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: Flexible and proactive in the face of changing client needs and market conditions.
  • CRM Proficiency: Comfortable using CRM and reporting tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) to manage pipeline, accounts, and performance data.

Qualifications

MUST HAVE previous experience working at a digital marketing agency

  • Proven track record in an account management, client success, sales, or production role within a digital marketing agency.
  • Solid understanding of SEO and/or PPC campaign management, along with broader digital marketing services (social media, content marketing, analytics).
  • Working knowledge of Google Ads (campaign structure, bidding strategies, conversion tracking) and core SEO principles (technical, on-page, off-page); Google Ads certification is a plus.
  • Comfortable discussing technical requirements with developers - tracking/tagging implementation, site changes, and technical SEO fixes - without needing everything translated first.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in CRM software (e.g., Zoho One), Slack and Google Workspace.
  • Highly organized and goal-oriented, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding performance targets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused agency environment.
