About the Role
Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a senior-level accounting position responsible for general ledger reconciliations, analysis, and forecasting. You will assist with reserve valuations, develop procedures, test account backup, and manage special projects as assigned.
This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change based on business needs.
Your Impact
- Responsible for monthly account reconciliations and analysis.
- Responsible for balance sheet trend analysis and reporting.
- Monitors assigned accounts for exposure and reports concerns to management.
- Researches and corrects account discrepancies.
- Tests ledger backup.
- Participates in the month-end close.
- Assists with transmission and reporting of financials.
- Responsible for special projects as required by management.
- Assists with physical inventory and fixed asset audits.
- Supports internal and use tax audits of fixed assets.
- Assists other department members and managers with projects.
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 5 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, including experience in and ability to research GAAP and other Authoritative Pronouncements.
- Strong Excel skills.
- CPA License is required.
- Audit experience with a large regional and/or international public accounting firm is preferred.
- Requires strong initiative; ability to bring potential solution options to management along with issues.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, time management, and written skills.
The anticipated salary range for this role is $76,150 - $114,040.
