About the Role

Careerscape is partnering with a fast-growing U.S.-based investment banking and advisory firm to hire a Remote Investment Banking Analyst for its expanding deal execution team. This is a high-impact opportunity for ambitious early-career finance professionals who want hands-on exposure to M&A transactions, financial modeling, valuation, capital raising, and strategic advisory work across multiple industries.

You'll work directly with experienced Associates, Vice Presidents, and Managing Directors on live transactions involving private equity firms, middle-market businesses, startups, and institutional investors. Analysts are treated as core members of the deal team from day one and are expected to contribute to real client deliverables, financial analysis, and transaction execution.

This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in fast-paced environments, enjoy analytical problem-solving, and want to accelerate their career in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or strategy.

Compensation

  • Base salary: $110,000 -- $155,000 depending on experience and technical ability
  • Annual performance bonus: 30% -- 80% of base salary
  • Estimated total compensation: $145,000 -- $250,000+ on-target earnings
  • Deal-closing bonuses and discretionary incentives for top performers
  • Fast-track promotion opportunities based on performance rather than tenure
  • Compensation reviews conducted annually with merit-based increases

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain complex financial models including DCF, LBO, merger models, and operating forecasts
  • Perform company valuations using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow methodologies
  • Prepare pitch books, CIMs, management presentations, investor decks, and transaction marketing materials
  • Conduct financial statement analysis, market research, and industry benchmarking
  • Support live M&A transactions, capital raises, restructurings, and strategic advisory engagements
  • Assist senior bankers with due diligence coordination and data room management
  • Analyze industry trends, competitive landscapes, and macroeconomic developments impacting clients
  • Participate in client calls, internal strategy meetings, and transaction discussions
  • Collaborate with analysts, associates, and leadership teams in a fully remote environment
  • Work with Excel, PowerPoint, financial databases, and AI-assisted research tools to streamline analysis

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 0--2 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, valuation, corporate finance, consulting, or transaction advisory
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and valuation methodologies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment
  • High level of professionalism, work ethic, and intellectual curiosity
  • Reliable high-speed internet and dedicated home office setup

Nice to Have

  • Internship experience at an investment bank, Big 4 firm, hedge fund, or consulting firm
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet, or Refinitiv
  • Exposure to M&A transactions, debt financing, or equity capital markets
  • VBA, SQL, Python, or financial automation experience
  • FINRA licensing or progress toward CFA designation
  • Experience working with startup, SaaS, healthcare, fintech, or technology clients
  • Understanding of private equity and venture capital ecosystems

Benefits & Perks

  • Highly competitive compensation structure with performance-driven bonuses
  • Fully remote / work-from-home flexibility across U.S. time zones
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 20 days PTO plus paid holidays and sick leave
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
  • Annual learning stipend for certifications, financial modeling courses, and CFA prep
  • Monthly internet and home office reimbursement
  • Company-issued laptop and premium financial software access
  • Exposure to high-profile transactions and institutional clients
  • Direct mentorship from experienced investment bankers and finance leaders
