Job Overview

CDM Smith is looking for a driven Project Controls Specialist Intern with a basic understanding of Earned Value Management and Project Scheduling principles and terms who is ready for an immersive, real-world experience. Under direct supervision, you will support the project delivery team by developing basic cost and schedule baselines, collecting and analyzing monthly progress, and identifying variances for projects of basic complexity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with internal procedures and federal/government regulations.
  • Gather project progress information to update and monitor projects.
  • Evaluate and update data regarding schedule dates, percent complete, resource requirements, and project accruals.
  • Develop time-phased project cost and resource forecasts and validate project costs.
  • Perform performance reporting using Earned Value Management.
  • Conduct basic financial analysis, including variance, risk, and profit/loss analyses.
  • Document and assess the impact of project changes on cost/schedule baselines.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze integrated critical path schedules for routine projects.
  • Draft client and internal status reports to communicate cost status and trends.
  • Use appropriate document management protocols for project documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Masters program.

  • Employment Type: Temporary (Fulltime)
  • Travel Required: 10%
  • Pay Range: $18.63 - $34.79 per hour
  • Work Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid options may be considered.
