- Senior Data Analytics Engineer
Position Description
CGI is seeking a Senior Data Analytics Engineer to support the delivery of enterprise data analytics and GenAI enabled reporting solutions within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role combines business focused user acceptance testing with data validation, analytics, API testing, and production readiness activities to ensure high quality data products before deployment.

This role is located at a client site in either Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with developers, product owners, business stakeholders, QA teams, and analytics professionals to validate business requirements, data pipelines, reports, APIs, and GenAI generated outputs. Responsibilities include:
- Executing end to end UAT.
- Performing SQL and API validation.
- Verifying JSON data structures.
- Supporting AWS based analytics platforms.
- Ensuring data accuracy across reporting solutions.
- User onboarding, documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing production support to help drive successful adoption of data driven solutions.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 5+ years of experience in data analytics, software development, data engineering, production support, monitoring, visualization, and business enablement.
- Strong experience performing Business User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, defect management, regression testing, and production readiness.
- Advanced SQL skills with the ability to validate complex datasets, perform source to target reconciliation, and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Hands on experience working with AWS based data and analytics environments.
- Experience validating REST APIs, nested JSON payloads, and API integrations using tools such as Postman and Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Proficiency with Python, including pandas, NumPy, and JSON processing for data validation and analytics workflows.
- Experience supporting GenAI enabled reporting solutions, including prompt assisted data extraction, validation of AI generated summaries, narratives, tables, and visualizations.
- Ability to analyze data trends, identify anomalies, and verify business rule compliance before production releases.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and collaboration tools such as Jira.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business users, developers, QA teams, and product owners.
- Experience developing user documentation, onboarding materials, SOPs, and conducting knowledge transfer sessions.
- Understanding of data governance, model validation, and enterprise delivery standards within regulated industries, preferably financial services.
- Proven ability to provide production support and resolve issues during application rollout and post deployment stabilization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or another related quantitative discipline.
Other Information
A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $139,300.00.
