Position Overview

CGI is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, full-stack developer for a high-performing Agile team designing and building a modern, services-based web application for a large government agency. Our team uses a modern development stack including Java, SpringBoot, PostgreSQL, Docker, and various open-source technologies.

Your Future Duties and Responsibilities

As a web application developer, you will participate in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle. Responsibilities include:

  • Authoring and reviewing web application code in Java, JavaScript, Spring framework, and SQL.
  • Participating in daily team discussions and code collaboration.
  • Engaging with clients, industry partners, and end-users to provide technical viewpoints.
  • Participating in technical design sessions to create sustainable, high-performing features.
  • Continuous improvement of development tools and technologies.
  • Authoring automated testing scripts.
  • Augmenting and improving system architecture.
  • Optimizing database design and backend data access.

Required Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience in web application development.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and Java coding practices.
  • Experience with the Spring framework is a significant advantage.
  • Understanding of RESTful web services and Agile team lifecycles.
  • Experience with modern Java development tools (e.g., Maven, Git, Tomcat, Eclipse, Bamboo).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to learn emerging technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • US Citizenship is required (CGI is unable to sponsor international hires).

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role in the U.S. is $70,800.00 - $172,400.00.
