Position Overview

Start your career as a Junior UX Designer on a collaborative Agile team supporting the modernization of mission-critical supervisory systems for a federal agency. You'll gain hands-on experience designing intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences, working alongside experienced designers, developers, and product owners.
Your Future Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in designing user interfaces and workflows for web applications, ensuring usability and accessibility (Section 508 compliance).
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to translate requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs.
- Conduct user research, gather feedback, and participate in usability testing to inform design decisions.
- Support the creation and maintenance of design systems, style guides, and documentation.
- Apply human-centered design (HCD) and best practices to deliver user-friendly solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and evolving requirements.
- Stay current with UX trends, tools, and accessibility standards.
- Engage in continuous learning, training, and mentorship.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–2 years of experience in UX/UI design (internships, academic projects, or professional roles).
- Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar).
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and usability best practices.
- Exposure to wireframing, prototyping, and user research methods.
- Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Eligibility for federal background investigation and compliance with security requirements (U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency with 3 years residency).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing for web applications in regulated or enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and front-end development concepts.
- Awareness of Section 508 accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Exposure to DevSecOps or Agile software development environments.
- Certifications in UX, HCD, or accessibility.
Compensation and Benefits
The estimated compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $52,200.00 - $123,800.00.
