About the Role

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in disrupting the logistics industry by leveraging data science to elevate our technology. You'll translate research and development efforts into production-ready software, collaborating closely with Data Scientists to optimize supply chains and deepen your expertise in statistical and mathematical techniques. This position is open to candidates located in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Translate Data Science Algorithms and Methods from R&D to stable, durable, and extensible software.
  • Provide thought leadership on best algorithm development practices and hosting technologies.
  • Engineer fully-featured, real-time modeling pipelines utilizing containerization, data storage, streaming, and MPP technologies.
  • Engineer and maintain a micro-services ecosystem for modeling, leveraging on-premise and cloud-based elastic compute.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, including automation, data delivery optimization, and infrastructure redesign in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Design and engineer high-performance computing platforms and algorithms for diverse data types.
  • Work with real-time data sources and identify scalable data access patterns.
  • Collaborate with R&D data science teams to productionize successful models in an on-demand environment.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in software development, scientific computing, and/or algorithm engineering.
  • Experience implementing REST API endpoints in Python on Linux using Docker.
  • Familiarity with statistical algorithms, particularly Boosting, Clustering, and Regression.
  • Proficiency in R and Python programming.
  • Knowledge of interfacing with SQL Server databases, HIVE, Kafka, Redis, MongoDb, and ElasticSearch.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, along with a high school diploma/GED.
  • Expertise in additional programming languages is a plus.
  • Experience with Spark/Hive/Hadoop Ecosystems and other noSQL data environments.
  • Experience working with Machine Learning, including Data Mining & Network Models.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as Tensorflow & PyTorch.
