Invitation to Serve as a Student Recruitment Partner
China Institute's Summer Heritage Study Program in China
For nearly a century, China Institute of America has been dedicated to advancing the understanding of Chinese language, culture, and society in the United States. As part of this mission, we are pleased to invite educators, counselors, community leaders, and alumni of China programs to serve as Student Recruitment Partners for our Summer Heritage Study Program in China, primarily serving Chinese American high school students in Orange and Los Angeles Counties in Southern California.
This immersive summer program offers students—particularly those with Chinese heritage or a strong interest in China—the opportunity to study Chinese, explore China's rich cultural traditions, and engage directly with contemporary society through guided academic and cultural experiences.
The Role of a Recruitment Partner
Recruitment partners help introduce this meaningful opportunity to students and families within their networks. Partners may:
- Share program information with students, families, and school communities;
- Encourage interested students to attend program information sessions (ZOOM);
- Connect prospective applicants with the China Institute admissions team for guidance through the application process;
- Help expand awareness of this unique educational opportunity within schools, heritage communities, youth networks and beyond.
Who We Welcome
We warmly welcome partners who are connected with:
- Chinese language programs in high schools
- Heritage language schools and community organizations
- Student advising or international education networks
- Families interested in meaningful China engagement for the next generation
Recognition and Referral Honorarium
Recruitment partners who successfully refer students who enroll in and participate in the program will receive a referral honorarium in recognition of their support. The base honorarium is $1,600 for eight enrolled students, with additional incentives available for higher enrollment numbers. Details will be provided through a referral agreement.
We do not have strict location requirements; however, as we primarily serve Chinese American high school students in Orange and Los Angeles Counties in Southern California, candidates based in Southern California are preferred.
Why This Program Matters
