Podiatry Medical Biller (Remote – Part-Time)
We are a premier billing firm seeking a Podiatry Billing Specialist to manage a dedicated client account. We are looking for a long-term partner who understands the nuances of podiatry coding and is looking for a stable, remote, part-time position.
This role begins immediately with a ramp-up period, moving into full "Biller of Record" status in July. You will be responsible for the health of the revenue cycle, primarily utilizing the ModMed (EMA) platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Podiatry-Specific Claims: Manage full-cycle billing, ensuring accurate use of modifiers (Q7, Q8, Q9, etc.) and CPT codes for routine foot care, DME, and surgical procedures.
- ModMed Management: Execute all daily billing tasks within the ModMed/EMA system.
- Denial & AR Resolution: Proactively research and appeal denials, working the aging report to keep AR under 30 days.
- Compliance: Ensure all claims meet payer-specific guidelines to maximize "clean claim" rates.
- Daily Maintenance: Dedicate 3--4 hours per day to ensure no backlog in claim submissions or payment posting.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Medical Billing, with a strong preference for Podiatry experience.
- Software: Experience with ModMed (Modernizing Medicine/EMA) is a significant plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in navigating EHR/PM systems and clearinghouses.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent daily schedule in a remote environment.
- Communication: Strong professional communication skills for interacting with our internal team and the client's office.
