Job description

Chief Operating Officer / Operations Manager

Location: 100% Remote
Employment Type: Full Time

We are looking for a professional with 5+ years of experience in the architectural door, frame, and hardware industry, specifically within the commercial and hospitality sectors.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will serve as a vital link in our lean, fully remote organization. While holding an operational title, this is a hands-on, production-driven role. You will work alongside our established, high-performing lead Project Manager to execute complex drop-ship orders for hotel renovation projects nationwide.

As the company scales, you will help establish operational guardrails, collaborate tightly with our estimating team on scope and pricing alignment, and provide guidance and mentorship to future project management and administrative hires.

Core Responsibilities

  • Active Project Management & Logistics: Own the life cycle of assigned projects from submittals to final delivery. Manage complex factory-direct drop-shipments to ensure material arrives on time and to specification.
  • System Execution: Utilize industry ERP software daily to manage project details, change orders, purchasing, and scheduling with high technical accuracy (comprehensive software onboarding provided).
  • Team Collaboration & Leadership: Work hand-in-hand with our existing Project Manager to balance workloads. Coordinate closely with the estimating team to ensure seamless handoffs from bidding to project execution.
  • Process & Scale: Help develop standardized remote workflows. Act as a resource and guide for new team members as the company expands its remote footprint.
  • Vendor & Client Relations: Maintain strong communication with manufacturers and remote jobsites to proactively resolve any material or scheduling conflicts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Industry Expertise: Minimum 5+ years of experience in the architectural door, frame, and hardware industry (specifically commercial/hospitality sectors).
  • Software Comfort: Proficient with industry takeoff/ERP software systems and a strong aptitude for learning new tech platforms.
  • Remote Mastery: Proven ability to stay organized, communicative, and driven while working in a 100% remote, home-office environment.
  • Skills: Exceptional knowledge of hollow metal, wood doors, and architectural hardware schedules; strong problem-solving skills regarding drop-ship logistics.
  • Travel: Comfortable with occasional, light travel if a specific jobsite or project milestone requires brief in-person oversight.

What We Offer

  • 100% Remote work flexibility.
  • Comprehensive training on our internal ERP software systems.
  • The opportunity to play a foundational role in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company.
  • Direct collaboration with leadership and a clear path for professional growth.
