About the role
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that support Medicare and Medicaid Claims platforms. You will be a valued member of a cross-functional delivery team, collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders to build scalable, reliable, and compliant systems.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and SQL.
- Build and enhance REST APIs and microservices to support system integration and data exchange.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze and translate Medicare and Medicaid Claims requirements into technical solutions.
- Design efficient database structures and optimize SQL queries to improve application performance and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issues to ensure system stability and reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, applying best practices for quality, security, and maintainability.
- Contribute to Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation to support ongoing development and future enhancements.
Work model
We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position 3 of days per week in a office.

What you need to have to be considered
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and object-oriented design principles.
- Advanced experience developing Spring Boot--based microservices.
- Solid expertise in SQL, including query optimization and database design.
- Prior experience supporting Medicare and Medicaid Claims or healthcare-related systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a hybrid, cross-functional environment.
