Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and enhancing the security posture of client cloud environments, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure. You will work closely with clients to identify vulnerabilities, recommend remediation strategies, and design secure, resilient, and compliant cloud architectures.

This is a client-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys combining deep technical expertise with strategic advisory and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and enhance the security posture of client cloud environments
  • Identify vulnerabilities and recommend effective remediation strategies
  • Implement and evaluate technical security controls and governance processes
  • Design secure, resilient, and compliant cloud architectures
  • Engage directly with clients to lead security assessments and architecture reviews
  • Support implementation of security improvements and best practices
  • Contribute to incident response planning and governance frameworks.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in cloud security architecture and assessments
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure security architecture
  • Deep understanding of cloud-native security and resiliency patterns
  • Experience with security frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001)
  • Proficiency in vulnerability management, risk assessment, and compliance standards
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience working in client-facing roles.

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud
  • Microsoft Sentinel
  • Azure Key Vault
  • Azure AD (Entra ID) & Privileged Identity Management (PIM)
  • Azure Policy
  • Azure Monitor & Log Analytics.

Additional Experience

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Security Assessments (e.g., Well-Architected Review Assessment - WARA)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Security Assessment Frameworks
  • Experience in security governance, incident response planning, and MIRP development.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (preferred or willingness to obtain within 2--4 months)
  • ITIL Foundation Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain within 2--4 months).
