Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Analyst to join our team. This role focuses on security log monitoring, MITA framework application, dashboard creation, and comprehensive reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously review and correlate security event data across SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence sources.
- Perform deep-dive analysis of suspicious activity, validate incidents, and determine root cause and impact.
- Create detailed incident reports, timelines, and post-incident summaries.
- Investigate user-reported phishing, malware infections, and policy violations.
- Recommend updates to SOC playbooks, workflows, and detection rules to reduce false positives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure monitoring tools are properly configured and tuned.
- Serve as a customer-facing SME to demonstrate capabilities and resolve issues.
- Document processes, runbooks, and troubleshooting steps.
Required Skills and Experience
- 2+ years of experience with Security Monitoring and Incident Response.
- 2+ years of experience with MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- 2+ years of experience with dashboard creation and reporting.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with the Palo Alto Cortex XSIAM/XDR platform.
- Knowledge of Linux, network administration, and network design.
- Experience in administration of firewalls, VPN technology, Active Directory, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems.
- Preference given to candidates local to Columbia, SC.
Education and Certifications
- Required: Associates degree in an IT or information security-related field (or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of education).
- Preferred: CISSP, CISA, CISO, CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or other relevant vendor certifications.
Interview Process
- Initial round: Virtual/Online (Microsoft Teams).
- Potential for a second round of in-person interviews.
