Sales Director

About the Job

This is a remote position based in Chicago, IL.

Pay: Base $120k-$150k + Uncapped Commission

Responsibilities

We are seeking a results-driven freight forwarding sales professional with expertise in international air and ocean logistics across Transpacific and Transatlantic trade lanes. You will be responsible for:

• Developing strategic sales plans.
• Securing new business and managing the full sales cycle.
• Building long-term client relationships with importers, exporters, and manufacturers.
• Collaborating with operations and carrier teams to deliver competitive logistics solutions.
• Leveraging market intelligence, CRM systems, and industry knowledge to exceed sales and profit targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of sales experience in international freight forwarding or NVOCC environments.
• Experience working with Asian and European trade lanes.
• Strong expertise in international air freight and ocean freight services.
• Proven success developing business within Transpacific and/or Transatlantic trade lanes.
• Existing customer relationships within import/export, manufacturing, retail, or industrial sectors preferred.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Incoterms
  • Customs and international trade compliance
  • Carrier routing and pricing structures
  • Supply chain and logistics operations
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business and close large strategic accounts.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Self-motivated with strong entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities.
• Background selling integrated logistics solutions including:
  • Air Freight
  • Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL)
  • Customs Brokerage
  • Warehousing & Distribution
  • Supply Chain Solutions
• Experience with POM systems and any other freight forwarding platforms is a plus.
