Job description

You've tested your limits—whether in athletics, the arts, or in professional settings. Now you're prepared to channel that excellence into meaningful impact. At GT Anywhere, you'll serve as an academic advisor, helping students achieve what seems impossible: thriving in school, accelerating their learning, and developing into confident, independent thinkers. You'll accomplish this from any location worldwide.

GT Anywhere operates as a virtual school designed for gifted learners ready to advance rapidly. We combine AI-driven academics with personalized coaching to provide what conventional education cannot: unlimited learning speed, rigorous exploration of sciences and humanities, and connection with intellectual peers. In your role as Academic Advisor, you'll support 3rd–8th grade students eager to accelerate their progress. Content instruction isn't your responsibility—our technology manages that. You serve as the coach who cultivates confidence, maintains high standards, and empowers students to uncover their potential. Each session is significant. Each milestone matters.

If you've achieved elite performance in any domain—athletics, performing arts, research, or commerce—and seek to guide the next generation toward similar achievement, this position is for you.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting biweekly individual virtual coaching sessions with each student, emphasizing goal-setting, motivation, and growth mindset development
  • Facilitating open office hours where students can access immediate support, encouragement, or problem-solving assistance
  • Leveraging AI-powered tools and tracking dashboards to monitor student advancement, detect obstacles, and refine your coaching tactics
  • Documenting observations, concerns, and strategic adjustments to keep each student advancing on an accelerated growth path
  • Partnering with team members to exchange effective strategies, surface urgent issues, and continuously refine the coaching framework

What You Won't Be Doing

  • Instructing lessons, evaluating assessments, or distributing assignments—our technology manages the academic content
  • Presenting lectures or adhering to a prescribed syllabus
  • Monitoring or micromanaging unmotivated students—we provide coaching, not surveillance
  • Attending excessive meetings or navigating administrative red tape
  • Operating at minimal effort—this team is designed for individuals committed to high performance and meaningful impact

Academic Advisor Key Responsibilities

Produce quantifiable academic progress and student engagement for virtual learners through frequent, high-impact mindset coaching delivered entirely within a remote, technology-enabled environment.

Basic Requirements

  • Master's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience coaching, mentoring, or motivating K–8 students
  • Proven high performance in any field—academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or the arts
  • Strong virtual presence and ability to connect with students quickly over Zoom/Google Meet
  • Comfortable using dashboards and tech tools to track and adjust performance
  • Ability to maintain at least 80 percent overlap with US business hours

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • PhD in any field
  • Background in performance coaching, sports psychology, or motivational work
  • Experience working with homeschool or alternative education families
