Responsibilities
We’re looking for a Senior HVAC Design Technician who can step in and contribute immediately. In this role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary design and engineering teams to lead the development of complex industrial HVAC and Process Exhaust systems for advanced facilities. You will be responsible for:
- Lead design, layout, and routing of industrial building mechanical systems
- Develop P&IDs, plans, sections, and construction details
- Perform design tasks across planning, concept, and detailed design
- Coordinate directly with clients, contractors, and internal disciplines
- Apply expert knowledge of building mechanical systems and codes to ensure quality and accuracy
This role is ideal for an experienced designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can operate with a high degree of independence, technical judgment, and initiative.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial building mechanical design experience (required)
- 3 of the last 5 years in a "Revit HVAC Designer" role designing Ductwork systems
- 8+ years of AutoCAD design experience
- 4+ years of Revit design experience
- 10+ years of total design experience (Exceptional candidates below this threshold may be considered for a lower job tier)
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. Mechanical Codes, specifically the International Mechanical Code (IMC)
- Demonstrated ability to independently execute design packages with minimal supervision
Note: Candidates with only residential/commercial experience are underqualified for this role.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Career HVAC Designer (not Engineer)
- Strong, recent industrial HVAC design background (e.g., semiconductor, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, mining & metals)
- Extensive HVAC Revit production experience
- Comfortable with industrial-scale systems and materials
- Clear communicator of design approach and experience
- Non-BSME / non-PE
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in complex industrial environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, cleanrooms, or data centers
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Technical or Associate's degree in a relevant discipline
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Advanced problem solving, planning, and analytical skills
