What's in Store
We're on the lookout for an Intake Specialist (Weekends - Remote) to join our growing team! As an Intake Specialist, you will complete data entry of Workers' Compensation claims received via phone to the system, in a precise and accurate manner, ensuring all client and company protocols are followed in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
- From phone report, gather and evaluate information from the injured worker and/or employer to determine level and/or category of injury, based on set criteria
- Data entry of initial claim (First Report of Injury) set up in system, in a precise and accurate manner -- from phone, fax, or email while working efficiently within deadlines and timeframes
- Adhere to phone-tree procedures per State of Florida contract, including emergency protocols
- Route the FROI call to the appropriate Triage Unit member for further handling
- Verification of data for accurate claim entry, such as spelling, grammar, valid SSN, location, etc., in a timely manner
- Research any situations that do not allow claim entry to ensure claim is entered to the system
- Follow company procedures and State mandated timeframes to comply with laws
- Print, organize, and verify all related forms for daily mail-out
- Verify all data daily for control purposes via printed lists
- Scan and attach new claim documents to the system
- Assist with other clerical duties as necessary
- Perform other duties as needed
This is a full-time, remote role. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 7am - 7pm EST.
Skills, knowledge & expertise
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one (1) year of medical terminology or medical office experience is preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
- Superb communication skills, verbal and written, conducted in a timely manner
- Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
- Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Excellent team player with interpersonal skills
- High level attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Capable of working collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision
- Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
- Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization
