About the Role

Dealerwing is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our growth.

This role is responsible for HR and Accounting functions like recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and personnel records, while also performing accounting duties like payroll support, commissions and multi-state payroll taxes.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality while managing multiple priorities. Is comfortable working across multiple web-based systems simultaneously and has strong Excel skills.

Key Responsibilities

HR Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and employee orientation.
  • Prepare and maintain personnel files and HR records.
  • Assist with employee benefits enrollment, changes, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, multi-state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Process employee status changes, terminations, and related documentation.
  • Track employee attendance, PTO, leaves of absence, and other personnel matters.
  • Assist with performance review administration and employee development initiatives.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, payroll, and HR procedures.
  • Maintain HRIS and employee database information.
  • Support workplace investigations and employee relations matters as directed.

Accounting Responsibilities

  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll-related reporting.
  • Multi-state payroll taxes filing and reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in human resources, accounting, bookkeeping, or a combination of both.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Experience with payroll processing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Work Environment

Remote or home office-based role requiring extended computer use and system navigation.

Compensation & Classification

This is an hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime in accordance with federal and state laws.
