Job description

Direct Counsel is seeking a Real Estate Associate to join a sophisticated commercial real estate practice in Philadelphia. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on a broad range of complex real estate transactions while collaborating with experienced attorneys across multiple offices and practice areas.

The ideal candidate will have 2–6 years of commercial real estate experience and a strong foundation in transactional real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development matters
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, and related transaction documents
  • Review title, survey, zoning, and due diligence materials
  • Coordinate and manage transaction closings
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on interdisciplinary matters
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships
  • Stay current on legal developments and market trends affecting commercial real estate transactions

Qualifications

  • 2–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience
  • Experience handling leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions, and development projects
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience reviewing title, survey, zoning, and due diligence materials
  • Excellent research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and work effectively in a collaborative environment
  • Active Pennsylvania Bar admission required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary range: $195,000 – $235,000
  • 4x4 Hybrid Model (in-office Wednesdays plus four additional in-office days per month)
