Position Summary
This is not a traditional role. We are not looking for a glorified executive assistant, nor a strategist too senior to roll up their sleeves. We are seeking a right-hand operator with the ambition, range, and commercial instinct to help run the engine room of Render Networks as we scale toward a 2028 exit.
This is a working partnership. You will be close to the CEO day-to-day, but the focus is on improving company performance, not orbiting one person. You will represent the company in rooms where the CEO cannot be, maintain the operating rhythm, and own HR, Business Operations, and Change Management as an integrated function. You will sit at the center of the Leadership Team and be measured on business execution.
Render builds the operating system for large-scale infrastructure deployment across utility sectors (fibre, electric, gas, water). We are transforming into an AI-first business, building a digital operating model to scale efficiently, and preparing for a high-multiple exit in 2028.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Right-hand support to the CEO: Act as a genuine partner in how the CEO spends their time. Represent them in meetings, manage calendar/inbox rhythm, travel, and ensure the operating week is cohesive.
- People and culture: Own end-to-end HR, including digitalizing processes, talent strategy, hiring, performance management, leadership development, compensation design, and fostering a culture of speed, quality, and ownership.
- Business operations: Partner with the CFO to establish systems and rhythms for leadership effectiveness, including quarterly planning, OKRs, board reporting, internal communications, and decision velocity.
- AI-first transformation: Lead the modernization agenda to turn Render into an AI-native operating model, embedding AI into workflows across all functions.
- Change management: Guide the Leadership Team through organizational design, process redesign, and M&A integration to ensure successful scaling.
- Customer-facing innovation: Engage with customers across utility sectors to understand their challenges and identify opportunities to integrate new solutions into our operating model.
Qualifications
- Experience operating at pace within a high-growth software or technology business, ideally through a transformation program or exit.
- Real depth in at least two of the three core areas (People, BizOps, Change) with the curiosity to learn the third.
- Previous experience holding a seat close to a CEO or founder, or readiness to step into such a role.
- Obsessive about AI and digital tooling as a way of working.
- Low ego, exacting standards, commercially sharp, and allergic to corporate theatre.
- Strong communication skills, ability to influence senior stakeholders, and high discretion.
Compensation
$130,000 - $160,000 a year
