Job Description

Travel and Event Management (TEM) supports the firm by overseeing travel logistics, contract management, payment processing, and event execution for more than 1,200 events annually. The team creates value by alleviating operational burdens for stakeholders and leveraging expertise in contract negotiation, compliance, and complex coordination to deliver memorable, high-quality experiences for attendees, business owners, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement more efficient reporting and tracking systems that will collect and report key measures and data.
  • Create, run, modify, and improve standard and on-demand ad hoc reports as needed to support the department's objectives.
  • Meet with service receivers to gather information and determine required reporting based on user's needs.
  • Work with vendor sources to extract and/or archive data from vendor systems.
  • Design, develop, deliver and coordinate the implementation of training programs to service receivers regarding the usage of new reports and tracking systems.
  • Administer systems and documentation to ensure system access and subject matter is current and available to meet business needs.
  • Collaborates cross functionally across multiple levels of the organization.
  • Maintain, document, and improve technical reporting processes and procedures.
  • Leads efforts to develop data warehouse to store data required to automate reporting and to improve efficiency with data analysis.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert to end users in using reporting tools.
  • Manages medium to large sized projects routinely.
  • Identify and resolve data integrity and system issues to support accurate reporting and operational needs.
  • Provide guidance and support to service users on calculating key statistics and using systems and reports to meet operational needs.
  • Deliver administrative and operational support to event planners, enabling efficient planning, organization, and execution of events.
  • Support accounts payable activities by processing invoices, tracking approvals, and ensuring timely and accurate payment to vendors.
  • Contribute to the creation, documentation, and ongoing maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures to support operational efficiency and compliance.

  • Considers many factors when researching problems/business questions and systematically uses accurate data and sound statistical theory when arriving at conclusions.
  • Explores alternatives and possible solutions in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Identifies ways to retrieve and analyze data using a variety of resources.
  • Identify data quality issues, research causes of data inaccuracy and identify solutions to prevent incorrect data being published or distributed.

Decision Making

  • Most reports and projects are sent out independent of review by a leader in the department.
  • Interprets procedures and guidelines in order to make decisions about data and formatting for reports.
  • Uses experience and judgment to recognize and address special needs and circumstances.
  • Makes decisions on report requests and projects and advises other Reporting Specialists on decisions made.
  • Works independently with leaders and management to solve reporting and analysis needs using complex reporting tools.
  • Assists leader in prioritizing report requests.

Requirements

Education/Certification

  • Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or comparable degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

Relevant Experience

  • 4 years business experience utilizing report writing software or programming, researching and implementing business applications, developing and maintaining web-based reporting, and data query tools preferred.
  • Ability to explain complex technical computer reporting and data structure issues and requirements to other highly technical persons.
  • Advanced knowledge of the computer and how to utilize office productivity software and relational database query software.
  • Familiarity with web-based automation tools.
  • Knowledgeable with data warehousing and complex database structures.
  • Experience with BI Publisher preferred.
  • Experience with Qualtrics preferred.
  • Experience with CVENT preferred.

Work Location

Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week effective June 1, 2026. Before June 1, 2026, candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office three days per week, with preference for Tuesday through Thursday.

Current INTERNAL home-based associates: While this role is posted as hybrid, if selected and accepted, you may retain your home-based status. Edward Jones intends in good faith to continue offering the role as home-based, though future business or regulatory needs may require on-site work.
