Position Overview
A leading global technical assessment and interview platform is seeking experienced Software Engineers to join its network of certified Interview Engineers.
This is a high-impact, contract-based opportunity focused entirely on conducting, evaluating, and structuring technical interviews for software developers rather than building production software. You will facilitate live coding assessments on a proprietary platform, ensuring a highly professional, fair, inclusive, and consistent experience for candidates globally.
This role is an excellent fit for experienced full-stack or backend engineers who are between full-time roles, taking a planned sabbatical, or seeking a steady and meaningful contract engagement over a defined period.
Key Engagement Details
- Classification: Independent Contractor
- Location: 100% Remote (Must be currently based in the United States)
- Duration: 4-Month Fixed-Term Engagement (Consistent availability needed through Q3 2026)
- Weekly Commitment: 40 hours per week (Requires a dedicated, consistent weekly block of availability to accept assignments and short-notice requests; flexible hours including evenings and weekends are highly welcome)
- Compensation: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct Structured Assessments: Lead 60-minute technical interviews through a proprietary platform across multiple domains, including full-stack, backend, frontend, and system design.
- Evaluate & Document: Assess candidates' coding proficiency, problem-solving approaches, technical depth, and communication skills. Provide highly detailed, objective, and well-structured written evaluations.
- Candidate Experience & Structure: Guide candidates through the interview process while strictly maintaining time management, structure, and professional candidate support.
- Bias Mitigation: Adhere to rigorous standards for structured, equitable, and bias-mitigated interviewing to ensure fairness for every candidate.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate on technical interview content, process enhancements, and future AI-driven interview initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Professional Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (full-stack, backend, or frontend).
- Interviewing Background: Prior experience conducting technical interviews (via a formal company program or independently), mentoring, leading, or managing engineers.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills. The ability to write clear, efficient, and deeply objective technical evaluation write-ups is critical.
- Core Soft Skills: High organization, real-time adaptability, and an excellent interview presence. (Soft skills and a welcoming demeanor are weighted as strongly as technical depth).
- Dedicated Availability: Genuine capacity to hold a consistent, 40-hour-per-week availability block for the duration of the contract. This is a structured commitment rather than a casual "on-demand" arrangement.
- Technical Setup: A reliable home office setup with a high-speed internet connection, a working webcam, and a high-quality microphone.
