Client: Online marketplace for vacation rentals and short-term stays
Duration: 6 months with HIGH chance for extension
Location: San Franciscos, CA (100% REMOTE -- Core hours 11am-5pm EST)
W2 Contract (C2C or 1099 not available)
Top Required Skills
- Minimum 10 years of relevant consumer insights experience with significant
- Minimum 10 years of experience in measurement frameworks and tracking
- Quantitative and Qualitative experience. 70/30 split, quantitative vs qualitative.
- Event and/or Sponsorship measurement or consumer insights is strongly desired.
- Mix of agency and big tech company experience is strongly desired
Overview:
You will primarily focus on our Events and Partnerships business, leading research that will help measure and evaluate the success of various partnerships and initiatives, identify & define market and audience opportunities and generate and refine potential ideas. This candidate will be tasked with designing and guiding research, shaping actionable insights and communicating these insights in clear and engaging ways in order to inform business decisions for stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee measurement of key global events and partnerships that company maintains - establishing and maintaining measurement frameworks, monitoring trends over time and translating findings into clear implications.
- Design, coordinate and execute strategic qualitative and quantitative research projects; involving a wide range of methodologies, such as focus groups, online tools, immersions, ethnographies, and simulated methodologies.
- Identify and implement innovative research techniques and emerging tools --- including AI methods --- to address evolving marketing business needs.
- Balance in-house execution with vendor-managed projects, maintaining quality and rigor across both models.
- Prepare and present research findings, through both written reports and presentations, in a concise and compelling way to client teams.
- Ensure all outputs are actionable, grounded in consumer knowledge, and guided by a broader understanding of business context and implications and inspire the team to uncover the "so whats" of all deliverables.
- Fully leverage all market, competitor and product information to produce objective and actionable insights of market drivers, the competitive environment, promotional and treatment trends with key customer types.
- Partner cohesively with the broader Research Leadership Team across business and consumer; avoid silos and seek out ways to add value by synthesizing and collaborating across the teams.
Qualifications/ Skills
- 10+ years of relevant consumer insights experience with significant
- 10+ experience in measurement frameworks and tracking
- A degree in the field of research, marketing or social sciences. MBA a plus Ability to plan, manage and facilitate global research.
- Experience on both the "client side" and "supplier/vendor side" of research a plus.
- Expertise in a wide range of both qualitative and quantitative research methods with particular emphasis on longitudinal tracking methodologies.
- Familiarity with advanced analytic techniques and emerging research tools, including AI methods Be detail oriented without sacrificing a broad strategic perspective.
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills --- able to distill complex consumer data into clear, compelling narratives that influence senior marketing stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive and cooperative attitude that fosters collaboration and teamwork both inside and outside the department.
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
