Our client is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead a major data transformation focused on AI readiness, data quality, governance, and enterprise-wide modernization. This is a 6-12 month contract-to-hire opportunity.

Compensation:

  • Contract Rate: $90-$100/hr W-2
  • Conversion Salary: ~$180K base + 20% bonus

This is a strategic leadership role, not a hands-on engineering position. You will drive change across siloed teams, influence leadership, and prepare the data ecosystem for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise data architecture and transformation efforts focused on AI readiness and data usability.
  • Assess the current landscape to identify gaps hindering AI, ML, and analytics initiatives.
  • Create actionable roadmaps to improve data health and reduce fragmentation.
  • Drive alignment across business and technology teams regarding data models, flows, and governance.
  • Partner with senior leadership to evolve data strategy and execution.
  • Influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Define architecture standards, integration patterns, and data management best practices.
  • Support platforms including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Salesforce, AWS, and on-prem environments.
  • Evaluate and recommend modernization or migration strategies.

Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience, with 3-5+ years in a Data Architect or similar leadership role.
  • Proven success leading large-scale data transformation or modernization initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of preparing enterprise data for AI, ML, and advanced analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve data quality, governance, and ownership.
  • Strong experience influencing stakeholders and driving adoption in complex organizations.
  • Technical proficiency in data warehousing, integration, and modeling.
  • Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, pipelines).
  • Experience with Salesforce, AWS, ETL, APIs, and microservices is highly valued.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with large-scale consumer data environments.
  • Background in customer data platforms, marketing/loyalty data, or digital product data.
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.

Important Note

This role is not for candidates seeking a purely hands-on engineering position, those who require formal authority to influence, or those who prefer narrow, clearly defined ownership.
