Job description

We're partnering with a global leader in industrial robotics and automation that is expanding its Physical AI capability across the US. (This is a remote first role with travel across MA, NH, PA, NY, NJ, OH)

This is a highly visible role for an engineer who wants to be closer to customers, applications and real-world robotics deployment. Rather than sitting in a purely heads-down software position, you'll act as a technical expert across advanced robotics, simulation, motion control and AI-enabled automation, helping customers and internal teams solve complex industrial challenges.

Day to day responsibilities

  • Act as a technical subject matter expert for Physical AI, virtual commissioning, digital twins and external motion control applications
  • Support customers, sales teams and application engineers with feasibility studies, simulations, demonstrations, technical presentations and solution design
  • Work directly with end users and system integrators to understand requirements, troubleshoot issues and optimize robotic applications
  • Investigate complex software, controls and integration problems, identify root causes and drive corrective actions
  • Develop proof-of-concept solutions for emerging robotics and AI-enabled automation use cases
  • Support robot vision evaluations, simulation workflows and higher-end robot options
  • Contribute to robotics software frameworks and help improve reliability, usability and deployment quality
  • Travel to customer and integrator sites when needed to support installations, workshops, demos and field troubleshooting

Skills and experience

  • Background in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or a related technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial robotics, automation integration, motion planning or related robotics applications
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++ and related tools such as CMake
  • Experience with ROS2, Linux, Docker, computer networking and distributed software environments
  • Knowledge of motion planning, controls, trajectory optimization, feedback control and robotic manipulation
  • Experience with simulation, emulation or digital twin tools; exposure to platforms such as Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Omniverse, Gazebo or similar would be valuable
  • Hands-on experience testing, integrating, troubleshooting and iterating on physical robots
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers, sales teams, application engineers and technical stakeholders

Why this role?

This is a rare opportunity to sit at the intersection of robotics software, physical AI, customer engineering and industrial automation. You'll be solving real problems with real robots, working closely with customers, and helping shape how advanced robotics technology is deployed in production environments.
