Job description

ezCater is the #1 food tech platform for workplaces in the US. The company makes it easy for any organization to manage its food needs and order from over 125,000 restaurants nationwide. For workplaces, ezCater provides flexible and scalable solutions for everything from employee meal programs to one-off meetings, all backed by beyond helpful 24/7 service and business-grade reliability. For restaurant partners, ezCater helps grow their business by bringing them new high-value customers and large orders.

ezCater values technology, and particularly data, as a differentiator and a key component of our success. It powers everything we do. We push ourselves every day to better the codebase, improve performance, and deliver an amazing customer experience.

As a company with significant investments in data-driven solutions, we're looking for a Senior Data Product Manager to lead and scale our Enterprise Data Platform as part of the Enterprise Data pillar. You will own the long-term product vision, strategy, and roadmap for our data platform—treating it as a product in its own right, not just a sequence of projects—and ensure it reliably powers analytics, data products, machine learning / data science workloads, and AI / natural-language (NL) experiences across ezCater.

What You'll Do

  • Lead Enterprise Data Platform product strategy: Define and refine the vision and strategy, grounded in business outcomes. Partner closely with Principal/Staff Engineers on technical direction.
  • Identify and quantify platform value: Partner with senior stakeholders across Data, Engineering, and Analytics to prioritize platform capabilities based on friction and needs.
  • Make our Enterprise Data Platform and Hub vision real: Turn our vision into an actionable product roadmap covering architecture, capabilities, and cost/consumption models.
  • Own and evolve a multi-quarter Data Platform roadmap: Balance foundational work (architecture, governance, AI integration) with high-leverage use cases (ML/DS, AI/NL-enabled analytics).
  • Enable ML and Data Science on the platform: Ensure the platform supports model development and deployment needs without creating "shadow" pipelines.
  • Turn cross-functional needs into reusable platform capabilities: Identify patterns across ingestion, modeling, and monitoring to convert them into reusable platform guardrails.
  • Translate platform needs into clear technical requirements: Convert ambiguous needs into actionable requirements, contracts, and SLAs for engineering teams.
  • Drive cross-workstream execution: Orchestrate teams through discovery, planning, and launch of major platform initiatives.
  • Act as a peer to Data Engineering and Architecture: Own the product "what and why" while engineering owns the "how."
  • Deliver, measure, and iterate: Own the lifecycle of platform capabilities from discovery through launch and adoption.
  • Increase adoption & track outcomes: Define success metrics, lead UAT, and own documentation and change management.
  • Be the authoritative expert: Serve as the go-to expert on platform architecture, constraints, and use cases.

What You Have

  • 5+ years experience as an owner of Data or Analytics Products; platform-adjacent experience is a plus.
  • 7+ years working in or with Data Engineering, Data Platform, or Analytics teams in complex environments.
  • Demonstrated success owning end-to-end data or platform products with measurable business impact.
  • Deep familiarity with data warehousing (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery), data lakes, ELT patterns, and modeling frameworks (e.g., dbt).
  • Strong SQL proficiency and experience with BI tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience partnering with Data Science/ML Engineering teams to support ML/DS use cases.
  • Proven ability to build and execute multi-quarter product plans in a Scrum/Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted analytics or natural-language query tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 5 days per quarter for team gatherings.

What You'll Get from Us

  • Market competitive salary ($162,000-$216,000 annually).
  • Stock options.
  • 12 paid holidays and flexible PTO.
  • 401K with company match.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Mental health and family planning resources.
  • Remote-hybrid work flexibility.
  • Employee meal program and other office perks.
