Supply Chain Supervisor
Location: Bergen County, New Jersey (Hybrid after onboarding)
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 base + bonus
Our client is seeking a hands-on Supply Chain Supervisor to join a growing food importing and distribution organization serving major retail, club, and foodservice customers across North America. This role is ideal for a supply chain professional who enjoys solving complex logistics challenges, building strong vendor relationships, and driving process improvements. You will play a key role in optimizing domestic and international transportation routes, managing freight partners, supporting project launches, and helping modernize supply chain operations through data analysis and systems improvements.
This is a highly visible position with significant growth potential for someone looking to develop into a larger leadership role.
What You'll Do
- Optimize domestic and international logistics routes to improve service levels and reduce costs
- Source, compare, negotiate, and manage freight forwarding, transportation, and warehousing partners
- Build strong relationships with logistics providers and supply chain vendors
- Evaluate transportation options and develop customized routing solutions
- Support project launches by coordinating logistics planning across multiple departments
- Analyze transportation and supply chain data to identify opportunities for improvement
- Assist with contract negotiations and cost management initiatives
- Troubleshoot supply chain and logistics challenges as they arise
- Collaborate with purchasing, procurement, finance, compliance, operations, and project management teams
- Develop and enhance SOPs and operational processes
- Support ERP enhancements, reporting tools, and dashboard development
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain function
What We're Looking For
- 4-5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or related fields
- Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, and international logistics operations
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Advanced Excel proficiency with the ability to analyze data and identify trends
- Experience with ERP systems preferred
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing processes, systems, or operational improvements is highly preferred
- Food, consumer products, import/export, or distribution industry experience is a plus
