Role Overview

  • Division & Department: Education Sales
  • Status: Full-Time Exempt
  • Reports to: Managing Director
  • Location: Remote - Anywhere in Minnesota
  • Compensation: $105-140k base salary plus commissions.

Job Summary

As a quota-carrying sales leader, you will drive revenue growth within a defined territory of schools and districts. You will manage the full sales cycle—from territory strategy and pipeline generation to closing and renewal—while collaborating with a cross-functional pod to deliver measurable impact for students, staff, and leaders.

Essential Job Functions

Territory Ownership and Revenue Accountability

  • Own and achieve a personal revenue quota, meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual targets.
  • Build and execute a territory plan that identifies priority districts and schools, reflecting relevant education funding policies.
  • Maintain a well-qualified pipeline and proactively address revenue risks.

Consultative Selling and Account Strategy

  • Lead the full sales process with district and school stakeholders, including superintendents and principals.
  • Conduct discovery to understand client priorities and translate them into tailored FranklinCovey solutions.
  • Develop strategic account plans, including multi-year expansion strategies and stakeholder engagement.
  • Navigate complex buying processes, including RFPs, board approvals, and budget cycles.

Pipeline Management and Forecasting

  • Use Salesforce, Domo, and other tools to manage pipeline, track opportunities, and maintain accurate forecasting.
  • Regularly review pipeline health to validate opportunity quality and address stalled deals.

Collaboration and Internal Partnership

  • Participate in territory "pods" to coordinate outreach and share insights.
  • Partner with coaches, implementation, and retention teams to support deal transitions and expansion.

Professional & Sales Hygiene

  • Follow through reliably on commitments to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Keep Salesforce and all required systems accurate and up to date.
  • Continuously develop core sales skills and apply coaching to improve execution.

Adaptability and Results

  • Operate effectively amid changing market conditions and evolving district needs.
  • Independently diagnose performance gaps and adjust strategies.
  • Travel as required to meet with clients and attend industry events.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.
  • 5 years of education sales, education services, or school/district leadership experience.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience selling to K-12 districts.
  • Proven track record of attaining or exceeding a multi-million-dollar annual quota.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic conversations with senior district leaders and communicate persuasively.
