Data Analyst / BI Developer (Power BI) - 100% Remote

Genesis10 is seeking a Data Analyst / BI Developer (Power BI) for a 100% remote contract opportunity with a Global Medical Technology Company.

Compensation Range: $50.00 - 65.00 per hour, W2

About the Role:

The Data Analyst / BI Developer will support the R&D function by developing, enhancing, and sustaining Power BI reporting solutions. This role focuses on Power BI development, with supporting skills in SQL/Snowflake, Git, and the Power Platform. You will work independently on moderately complex projects within a product/team operating model.

Responsibilities:

  • Publish and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models for R&D and business processes.
  • Standardize KPI and metric definitions with stakeholders and ensure consistent implementation.
  • Develop and maintain core semantic data models using best practices for star schema / dimensional modeling.
  • Build and optimize DAX measures and Power Query (M) transformations.
  • Improve report and dataflow performance, reduce manual effort, and enhance reliability.
  • Support workspace/app refresh monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Interface with Process Excellence Reporting & Analytics team members.
  • Collaborate with domain SMEs to define metrics, validate results, and resolve data issues.
  • Act as a curious, self-starting learner, engaging the data analyst community.
  • Participate in collaborative development practices, including version control and peer review.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of job-related experience OR Master's degree with 0 years of job-related experience.
  • 2 years of data modeling (e.g., Git, branching, SQL, Snowflake) and Power BI development experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in a medical device or regulated environment.
  • Experience translating stakeholder requirements into analytics deliverables.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changes in technology, processes, or requirements.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and manage priorities effectively.
  • Power BI / BI Engineering: Star schema / dimensional modeling, report publishing/maintenance, RLS concepts, performance tuning.
  • Intermediate SQL / Snowflake: CTEs, window functions, curated views/tables, data validation queries.
  • Microsoft Power Platform: Power Automate, Power Apps.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Lists.
