Location: Brookfield, WI (Hybrid) Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000.00/year Employment Type: Direct Hire

Genesis10 is seeking a Network Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a Major Insurance Company in Brookfield, WI. This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you will own and manage the enterprise network environment, serving as the primary network expert. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving critical infrastructure within a collaborative team. This role is key to stabilizing and modernizing the network, requiring both immediate attention and long-term strategic improvements.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote after the initial 90-day onsite training period.
• Onsite Training: 100% onsite for the first 90 days for training and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the enterprise network environment across on-premises and cloud (Azure).
• Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2-3 network issues end-to-end.
• Monitor and maintain network performance, reliability, and security.
• Configure and support routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Configure and support routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Configure and support VPNs and secure access solutions (e.g., Zscaler).
• Support and optimize SD-WAN connectivity across locations.
• Partner with internal teams (infrastructure, service desk) to resolve issues and improve operations.
• Lead and contribute to key initiatives including vulnerability remediation, network assessment, and Wi-Fi enhancements.
• Assist with hybrid cloud networking in Microsoft Azure.
• Create and maintain documentation and contribute to automation where applicable.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF).
• Strong expertise in firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
• Experience with SD-WAN environments.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure networking.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves problem solver comfortable being the primary network owner.
• Strong collaboration skills to work closely with service desk and infrastructure teams.
• Adaptable and proactive, with experience working in non-siloed environments where versatility is key.

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with Zscaler.
• Experience with Juniper equipment.
• Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI).
• Foundational IT/support experience (e.g., help desk) is a plus.
