At GoDaddy, we are looking for a Senior Director of Engineering to lead Internal and External Developer Platform and Experiences. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for transforming how 2,000 engineers and an even larger builder community build, test, integrate, ship, and operate software in the era of AI and Agentic systems.

This role will help define the future of GoDaddy's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), developer ecosystem, and platform strategy by reimagining how developers leverage AI, automation, and intelligent systems to accelerate innovation, improve reliability, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

What you'll get to do

  • Influence thousands of developers, invent the future developer experience for in-house and outside teams, and help build the foundation for GoDaddy's operation in an AI-native world.
  • Define and implement the strategy for Developer Platform & Experiences across internal & external developers and broader builder ecosystems.
  • Reimagine and modernize the process of software creation and delivery for an AI-first and Agentic future, including tooling, workflows, automation, and improving developer efficiency.
  • Build and scale highly available, secure, and extensible platforms that improve engineering velocity, reliability, and developer satisfaction.
  • Partner with ELT, Architecture, Security, Product, and Infrastructure teams to influence enterprise-wide technical strategy and platform investments.
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering workflows, developer assistants, autonomous systems, and emerging software delivery patterns.
  • Develop strong engineering culture through technical excellence, operational rigor, coaching, and inclusive leadership.
  • Create measurable outcomes around developer productivity, platform adoption, operational efficiency, and software quality.
  • Stay connected to architecture and implementation details; hands-on coding, prototyping, and technical experimentation are preferred.

Your experience should include

  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale engineering organizations and platform teams in high-growth or enterprise environments.
  • Strong technical depth in developer platforms, cloud-native systems, infrastructure, software delivery, and engineering productivity.
  • Demonstrated experience driving organization-wide transformation initiatives and platform modernization efforts.
  • Experience building or scaling developer ecosystems, internal platforms, developer tooling, or self-service capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of modern SDLC practices, CI/CD, platform engineering, developer experience, and reliability engineering.
  • Experience with AI, ML platforms, developer copilots, Agentic systems, or automation frameworks is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on technical capability with a willingness to prototype, code, review architecture, and engage deeply in technical decisions.
