Freelance AI Trainer

Requirements

Must have:

• We welcome current Associates, Bachelors, or Masters students, as well as recent graduates who already hold a degree.
• We value strong attention to detail and the ability to apply instructions accurately.
• We are looking for people who are comfortable working in a mostly asynchronous, remote setting.
• We seek candidates who are confident in their reasoning and able to contribute to evaluating advanced AI systems.
• We accept applicants from all academic disciplines and majors.
• We require access to a reliable internet connection and a desktop or laptop computer.
• We ask applicants to complete a brief training and a single assessment before starting.

Responsibilities

• We work remotely and independently on short-term AI training assignments.
• We evaluate and help improve large language models in partnership with leading AI labs.
• We apply our academic background, reasoning, and general skills to support model performance improvements.
• We follow detailed guidelines carefully and complete tasks with accuracy.
• We participate in brief onboarding and assessment steps before project placement.
• We contribute to ongoing projects when matched and remain available for future opportunities.
• We build familiarity with how frontier AI labs train their models while earning pay.

Company

We are offering remote, part-time contract opportunities through our Handshake AI program, where contributors collaborate with top AI research labs to help test and improve large language models. This independent contractor role is fully remote, flexible, and asynchronous, with no minimum hour requirement, and many contributors work around 5 to 20 hours per week when actively assigned. The program runs year-round, with projects opening periodically across different subject areas and future opportunities available based on performance and project needs. We offer compensation of up to $30.00 per hour, and applicants can work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
