Job Summary and Qualifications

The Purchasing Warehouse Buyer is responsible for processing all purchasing requests for all supplies, services, and equipment. This role ensures all orders are processed accurately and timely, expedites orders, follows up on ETAs, sources viable substitute products to minimize back order impact, and coordinates orders with warehouse inventory analysts and the clinical team. The Purchasing Warehouse Buyer also resolves invoice and price discrepancies, keeps outstanding receiving report information current, and provides updated information on open orders for inventory items with low stock.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process all warehouse general stores orders in a timely and accurate manner
• Process all warehouse special purchase requests from SMART Procurement in a timely and accurate manner
• Validate receipt, review, and correct all EDI and fax confirmations to eliminate service failures
• Obtain and document estimated ship dates and available substitutes for backordered or allocated items
• Contact vendors to obtain available substitutes, as required
• Provide available substitute options to the clinical team and Inventory Analyst for review and approval
• Review outstanding receiving (OREC) report weekly to ensure it remains current
• Contact vendors to update estimated ship dates for past due items or expected deliveries
• Work closely with Inventory Analyst to review OREC and update receiving as required
• Provide updated purchase status based on requests from inventory analysts

Education & Experience: (Required for new hires as of 6/01/2018)

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Associate Degree or higher Preferred
• Three to Five (3 to 5) years of purchasing or order entry experience Preferred
