[Remote] Cloud Engineer - Alibaba Cloud (contract)

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day operations on the cloud solutions architecture team
• Build and implement automation processes to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows
• Support operational functions and engage with teams utilizing cloud technologies
• Focus on deployments in the public cloud environment
• Build, test, and refine cloud processes to meet evolving business needs
• Lead and participate on a team focused on cloud data initiatives
• Mentor and provide guidance to team members through coaching, collaboration, and training
• Lead large-scale projects and solve complex business problems
• Build and execute items on a multi-year roadmap
• Configure and tune Informatica for optimal performance
• Interact with public cloud environments running both production and non-production workloads

Skills

• 5-7 years supporting applications in a production environment
• 2 or more years of open-source cloud provisioning tools in production cloud environments such as Terraform or Ansible
• 2 or more years of AWS experience with multi-account topology and components including RDS, RedShift, IAM, S3, and EMR
• 2 or more years of scripting and deployment experience in production environments for improving efficiency and automation using bash, python, or CI/CD pipeline
• 2 or more years of industry experience with big data applications deployed in public cloud including Informatica, AWS EMR, Spark, Datalake, and CI/CD pipeline
• Industry experience and knowledge of AWS Components
• Proficiency with open-source cloud provisioning tools
• Expertise in big data tools and practices
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes
• Experience configuring and tuning Informatica
• Ability to lead people both directly and indirectly
• Strong problem-solving capabilities for complex business challenges
• Strategic planning and roadmap execution abilities
• Fluency in Chinese preferred
• Relevant public cloud certifications preferred
• Relevant certifications for open-source tools or scripting languages preferred
