Advanced Software Engineer

Honeywell is seeking an Advanced Software Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA, on a hybrid work schedule. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a crucial role in developing and implementing cutting-edge software solutions for process automation. Your expertise will drive the design, development, and deployment of innovative automation technologies to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for deploying applications on customer on-premise and cloud systems.
  • Support continuous improvement by investigating and presenting alternative technologies for architectural review.
  • Analyze proprietary software system logs, stack traces, and related technology logs for root cause determination.
  • Troubleshoot software application issues at a code level, stepping through application logic for proprietary languages.
  • Install, maintain, and upgrade applications.
  • Collaborate on projects executed across geographies and cultures.
  • Research and provide infrastructure solutions based on scope and requirements.
  • Document technical knowledge in notes and procedures.

You Must Have

  • Technical experience in IT design and development with Microsoft Azure VMware, AWS, or other cloud services.
  • Experience installing and managing Kubernetes clusters.
  • Knowledge of Docker containerization.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools (e.g., Bamboo, Octopus, SonarQube, Jenkins/Flux).
  • Scripting knowledge in Terraform, PowerShell, or Azure CLI.
  • Hands-on experience with tools like Swagger and Postman.
  • Knowledge of DevOps pipelines and PowerBI.
  • Basic experience with Windows Servers and Linux Servers.
  • Linux Server networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing with NGINX and HA Proxy).
  • Strong knowledge of software installations, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Hands-on administration experience with RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, Shell, and Perl.
  • Basic knowledge of security concepts (SSL/TLS, RBAC, Secrets Management).
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS configurations, GPO, and OU structure.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure/VMware backup/restore and disaster recovery tools.
  • Knowledge of system sizing for servers.
  • Experience designing system architecture for mission-critical systems, focusing on high availability and performance monitoring.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide step-by-step technical help.

We Value

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Information Technology, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Cloud Platforms and Infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
  • Certification in DevOps tools.
