Job description

As a Principal Systems Engineer here at Honeywell, you will design, develop and integrate highly complex systems. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will have ownership for systems at every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.

You will report directly to our Sr Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the company by ensuring that the system design aligns with Honeywell's quality standards and industry best practices, while also maintaining in-depth knowledge of relevant technologies to provide knowledge and technical assistance to other team members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical leadership of various aspects of the avionics platform system including Systems, Software, Tools and Hardware.
  • Cross-team coordination and leadership.
  • Requirements analysis.
  • Safety analysis.
  • Requirements decomposition.
  • Systems/software design.
  • Systems/software integration.
  • Systems/software validation & verification.
  • Customer interaction (primarily internal).
  • Project oversight.
  • Project coordination.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 15 or more years in systems and/or software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership by influence experience.
  • Experience with aspects of certification of large avionics systems.
  • Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platforms.
  • Experience with cyber security aspects of product development.
