Role Overview
As a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer at Honeywell, you will lead a team of systems engineers in designing, developing, and delivering advanced systems that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency. You will work on cutting-edge projects, shape future technology solutions, and report directly to our Director of Engineering. This position is based in Redmond, WA, with a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will support and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers. Working under limited supervision alongside world-class engineers, you will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next-generation products by designing, testing, and validating processes from prototype to market.
You will be part of a committed team of professionals, providing expertise for complex engineering projects while mentoring junior engineers. You will also interact with internal and external customers to ensure products meet specifications. A successful candidate will have a broad background in mechanical engineering and computer science, with the ability to collaborate across electrical, materials, and manufacturing functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Support numeric evaluation of product design, integration, and qualification for new inertial navigation products.
- Calibration of inertial sensors and systems.
- Evaluation of sensor and system performance, including Root Alan Variance (RAV).
- Support trade studies and issue resolution (e.g., FMEA, RCCA).
- Prepare technical documentation and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Contribute to design team meetings (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs).
- Support customer flow-down requirement analysis and technical solution development.
- Develop system-level documentation, including requirements, Interface Control Documents, and test plans.
- Support proposal efforts, including development of BOEs.
- Perform simulations, data analysis, and define test procedures.
Qualifications
You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).
- 5 years of experience in systems engineering and engineering management.
- Mastery of systems integration, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- 2 years of experience with inertial instruments.
- 3 years of professional experience (or 2 years with an advanced degree).
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
We Value
- Masters or PhD, particularly in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with test system integration for high-precision inertial sensors/IMU.
- Experience with numerical data analysis, regression, and curve fitting.
- Proficiency in Matlab, Creo, SolidWorks, and MathCAD.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma Methods (Black Belt preferred).
- Experience leading complex system integration projects.
Additional Information
Due to U.S. export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or have protected status).
